Why do you need a coach?
I have found that coaching conversations can transform lives and unlock potential and talent, and I believe that coaching should be available to everyone, not just senior leaders.
I use a non-directive, person-centred model of coaching, an approach based on the power of listening and drawing on your experience, strengths, and intuition.
I draw on my broad professional experience, which includes over 15 years working in international development, adult learning, academia and academic publishing, working with diverse individuals and teams in Europe, Africa and Asia on complex project work (see my consultancy page for more information).
I am a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), accredited with EMCC at Practitioner level, and have a Masters (with distinction) in Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University.

Become unstuck in your work
I work mainly with individuals working in NGOs and other complex organisational roles to become unstuck in their work challenges and unlock their real potential.

Technology-enhanced coaching
As well as traditional coaching (face-to-face or Zoom), I offer a number of optional technology-enhanced options, including: AI-powered Human/AI hybrid coaching using trusted AI chatbot software; and hybrid talk/text coaching using WhatsApp for those who prefer a more ‘offline’ lower-pressure approach.

But the average employee is probably already wary about privacy and confidentiality when using AI at work. And in my research, many people were less… read more

Research paper published: How can human coaches use their experience to differentiate their practice from AI coaching?
I’m happy to share this new open access research that I co-authored with Jonathan Passmore, looking at how human coaches use their experience to differentiate their practice from AI coaching. We interviewed a group of experienced executive coaches to explore how they draw on career experience in their coaching practice. What did we find? ➡️… read more

Do you want to know more about AI ethics in practice?
I’ve just completed the Oxford AI, Ethics, Regulation and Compliance Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. I’m looking to use this training to help individuals and organisations navigate complex ethical and legal issues in real-world AI projects. Give me a shout if you’d like to know more. In the meantime, here are some… read more

Are we headed towards an AI-conscious coaching?
During last week’s Digital and AI Coaching Conference (which was excellent – kudos Sam Isaacson and team), I noted an interesting theme running through – it wasn’t all about whether chatbots will or won’t replace human coaches, there was also a strong thread about coaches needing to understand AI to better support leaders. Colin Cosgrove… read more
